Harvesting Devices’ Heterogeneous Energy Profiles and QoS Requirements in IoT: WPT-NOMA vs BAC-NOMA

چکیده
The next generation Internet of Things (IoT) exhibits a unique feature that IoT devices have different energy profiles and quality service (QoS) requirements. In this paper, two spectrally efficient transmission strategies, namely wireless power transfer assisted non-orthogonal multiple access (WPT-NOMA) backscatter communication (Back-Com) NOMA (BAC-NOMA), are proposed by utilizing employing spectrum cooperation among the devices. particular, use ensures with QoS requirements can share same spectrum, WPT Back-Com employed to utilize profiles, which avoids dedicated beacon. Furthermore, for WPT-NOMA scheme, application hybrid successive interference cancelation (SIC) decoding order is also considered, analytical results developed demonstrate avoid outage probability error floors realize full diversity gain. Unlike WPT-NOMA, BAC-NOMA suffers from an floor, asymptotic behavior floor analyzed in paper applying extreme value theory. addition, effect BAC-NOMA, i.e., one device's signal as carrier another device, studied, its impact on gain revealed. Simulation provided compare performance strategies verify results.

This letter investigates the resource allocation problem in device-to-device (D2D) communications underlaying a non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA)-based cellular network, where both cellular users and D2D users harvest energy from the hybrid access point in the downlink and transmit information in the uplink. We propose a low-complexity iterative algorithm to maximize the energy efficiency o...
متن کاملShort-Packet Communications with NOMA for IoT Applications
This work introduces downlink non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) into short-packet communications. NOMA has great potential to improve fairness and spectral efficiency with respect to orthogonal multiple access (OMA) for lowlatency downlink transmission, thus making it attractive for the emerging Internet of Things. We consider a two-user downlink NOMA system with finite blocklength constrai...

Wireless powered communication networks (WPCNs), where multiple energy-limited devices first harvest energy in the downlink and then transmit information in the uplink, have been envisioned as a promising solution for the future Internet-of-Things (IoT). Meanwhile, non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) has been proposed to improve the system spectral efficiency (SE) of the fifth-generation (5G)...
متن کاملNoma: a neglected enigma.
Noma is a disease surrounded by riddles. It manifests itself only in the poorest populations in developing countries, enclosed by ignorance and extreme poverty. The worldwide prevalence of noma is unknown— estimates range from 30 00 0 to 140 000 cases. Most cases of noma worldwide occur in the so-called noma belt, which is situated directly south of the Sahara and runs across Africa from Senega...
